Search the register

The API number if you have it, otherwise the KGS well id, the county, or the operator of record.

Screening a list of parcels or a lease block? Pro access resolves them in bulk, and the datasets are published with their prices — from USD 300 a month for the stream of changes.

What comes back

One well, with the answer first: how the register classes it, whether a plugging date is on file, and whether the State paid to seal it. Then the operator, the field, the formation, the depth and the dates.

Nothing is searched on our servers — the index is a set of static files and the lookup runs in your browser, which is why an individual record has no address of its own and cannot be indexed as a page about a property.

⚠️ Why you cannot search by address

Because a Kansas well is not located by one. It sits at a township, range, section and quarter call — the survey grid. That description is on the record and deliberately on no page of this site.

⚠️ What a blank does not mean

This is an independent copy, not the register. The Survey recommends that its data be taken directly from a KGS server rather than through another site that may have changed it — for anything a transaction depends on, use theirs.
